I stumbled across this quote when I was on Pinterest earlier. This really made me think about the meaning behind the quote. Sometimes I think I try to stay safe in the harbor. I like knowing what is happening and being in control. My safe harbor is often the places, people, and things I am comfortable with. I feel safe around my family, friends, hometown. All these things allow me to know what to expect.
This quote says that ships are not meant to sit in the harbor. They are meant to sail. The same thing applies to me as I think about it. God did not create me to stay in one little area where I can control life. God created me for an amazing purpose. I need to trust more that God will allow me to have new amazing experiences. I need to take the chance to explore new places and meet new people.
I need to be willing to leave my harbor because I know that when I need to sail back my harbor will still be there for me.
